  1. RaaS announcements do not convert into disclosed robot deployments or throughput KPIs within 12-24 months.
  2. Customers stay in indefinite pilot/incubator mode without expansion or renewal.

The next humanoid proof is not the robot — it is whether customers keep paying for the work

Humanoid robotics is starting to show a more useful evidence unit than demos: customer-payment conversion.

GXO and Agility provide the cleanest public example. GXO announced a proof-of-concept with Digit at a SPANX facility in December 2023. In June 2024, GXO and Agility announced a multi-year agreement described as the first formal commercial deployment and first Robots-as-a-Service deployment of humanoid robots. By November 2025, Agility said Digit had moved more than 100,000 totes at GXO’s Flowery Branch facility.

That is a meaningful S4 signal. It combines a real customer, a real workflow, a commercial/RaaS structure, and a quantified task-throughput milestone. It is stronger than a viral video or a customer logo.

But it is not S5 proof yet. Public sources still do not disclose how many robots were deployed, how many robot-hours produced the 100,000+ tote milestone, what the RaaS price was, what uptime and intervention rates looked like, whether the customer achieved ROI/payback, or whether the vendor earned attractive gross margin after hardware, service, software, insurance, and support costs.

The right field-guide question is therefore not “which humanoid looks best?” It is: which humanoid deployments convert from pilot to paid work, then to repeat expansion with transparent operating economics?
